Vows – A Couple of Forevers

Cupid let his arrow fly at a pool party attended by social worker Aiesha Jones and Jam Pro Deep Cleaning CEO Oscern Hogg in Maryland in 2016. It would be Hogg’s Jamaican food, however, that sealed the deal and led to their Valentine’s Day engagement two years later and subsequent nuptials on Saturday, October 5, 2019. “He knew the way to my heart and that was with some good food,” Aiesha shared with Vows.

The ceremony

The wedding took place at the Ocho Rios-located Hibiscus Lodge Hotel on the Crow’s Nest seaside balcony, affording sweeping views of the Caribbean Sea. Michelle Levene-Phillips and her team from The Wedding Planner Plus were responsible for the evening’s fresh, understated colour scheme of white with accents of coral, peach and gold.

Wearing a razor-sharp khaki three-piece suit, the groom’s face creased in a smile as the sound of Major’s Why I Love You filled the space and Aiesha, looking spectacular in a white sweetheart-neckline mermaid gown dusted with rhinestones and sequins, appeared. She was escorted by proud dad Raymond Brooks.

Reverend Trevor Hylton officiated the ceremony and would later declare the couple husband and wife.

The reception…

followed in the Glass Room of the Hibiscus Lodge Hotel where the theme became tropical elegance with a bit of rustic charm. The bridal party danced their way into Fall by Davido, followed by the newly-weds, Oscern and Aiesha, who made their entrance to Wale’s On Chill featuring Jeremih.

The evening continued with the unveiling of the two-tiered vanilla and fruitcake by Sheila’s Homemade Pastries, and a hearty reception dinner catered by the Hibiscus Lodge Hotel team.

The newly-weds opened the dance floor to Here & Now by Luther Vandross. Guests, thereafter, joined them partying into the night.

A honeymoon will follow at a later date.
